Foundation
The Sharad Group, founded by Shri Gangaram Valji Thakker and Shri Shankarlal Gangaram Thakker, emerged as a mining company specialising in Bentonite, Red Clay, and Gypsum, alongside trading Charcoal.
1960
Salt Expansion
Expansion ensued with the establishment of a Salt Manufacturing Unit in Santalpur, now boasting an impressive annual output of 100,000 tonnes. Concurrently, mining operations diversified to include Ball Clay and Kaolin Clay.
1970
Technological Advancements
Embracing technological advancements, The Sharad Group pioneered the levigation process for Ball Clay and Kaolin Clay, earning the distinguished reputation of producing "Santalpur Clay."
1980
Market Dominance
Firmly establishing its presence, the company emerged as a major supplier of Ball Clay and Kaolin Clay in Morbi and across various states of India. Research efforts intensified to explore new mining areas and expand salt manufacturing units within the Kutch region.
1990
New Facility
Further expansion saw the inauguration of a new Salt Manufacturing unit in Sanghad, Kutch.
1993
Warehousing Expansion
In response to growing demand, Sandhya Warehouse was established in Gandhidham, subsequently evolving into extensive warehousing facilities near prominent ports like Deendayal Port and Adani Port in Mundra, spanning an impressive 300,000 Sqft.
1998
Diversification Begins
The company diversified its mining operations with the initiation of Kaolin Clay and Silica Sand mining in Lakhond, Bhuj and other areas in Kutch.
2000
Vertical Launch
A new vertical, Sandhya Minechem Industries, was launched to focus on Kaolin processing, marking a significant milestone in the company's growth trajectory.
2005
Production Expansion
Sandhya Minechem Industries expanded its offerings with the establishment of a turnkey Silica Sand Processing plant specialising in Float Glass Sand, boasting an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons.
2013
Innovation Drive
The company launched a High Intensity Magnetic Separator for Kaolin Processing at 7 Microns. Also, a Silica Sand Processing plant tailored for Float Glass and Foundry was set up. Bentonite Mines opened in Vaandh, Gujarat, alongside Laterite mining operations.
2017
Technological Upgrade
Sandhya Minechem Industries achieved another milestone with the installation of a Matec Automatic Filter press for Kaolin Processing, showcasing a commitment to cutting-edge technology and efficiency.
